Our Team

 Friendship Assembly of God in Hawarden, Iowa is currently seeking to fill the role of lead pastor. Our church is a small family of spirit-filled believers and is located in a rural farming community that boasts a population of approximately 2600 people, including a significant presence from the Hispanic community. Hawarden is within an hour of both Sioux Falls (South Dakota) and Sioux City (Iowa) and lies along the Big Sioux River.

We are currently praying for God to fill our need for a lead pastor. We ask that this individual be credentialed within the Assemblies of God denomination. Since we are a church that believes the Bible in its entirety, we are seeking someone who exemplifies the qualities in 1 Timothy 3:2-7 and has a desire to live and volunteer within our community. It is important to our congregation that this person be a spirit-filled, spirit-led believer who has a heart for online ministry and community involvement to encourage growth within the church.

We also believe that effective and consistent communication is imperative. A person who is called to minister at Friendship Assembly of God can expect to perform certain responsibilities. These responsibilities can include (but are not limited to):

·       Maintaining the day-to-day operations of the church building and its ministries (including the church finances)

·       Delivering the Sunday sermon

·       Maintaining communication with and leading the board of elders

·       Overseeing worship/altar ministry

·       Interpreting and acting upon needs as they arise within the congregation.

·       Assist in maintaining an online presence through social media and other online ministries

·       Not be afraid to delegate tasks to members of the congregation  

As previously stated, the above is not an exhaustive list and since our body is comprised of a wide variety of ages and interests, certain issues will inevitably arise. We ask that you be able to communicate effectively while offering Godly wisdom and grace to each situation that may be brought to your attention.  

This full-time position includes a salary package. Our lead pastor can also expect paid time off and additional benefits to be determined based on experience and individual circumstances.
